THE BURDEN OF EDOM: THE FUTURE OF JORDAN

It is written in Jer 49:17-18 “ Edom shall be a desolation: every one that goeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof. 18 As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighboring cities thereof, saith the LORD, no man shall abide there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it ”. It is also written concerning Bozrah in Jer 49:13 “ For I have sworn by myself, saith the LORD that Bozrah shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes ”. Yet it is written in Oba 1:15-21 concerning Edom: “ For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head. 16 For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so shall all the heathen drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been. 17 But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions. 18 And the house of Jacob shall be a fire…and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it ”.

In Jer 49:13, 17-18 cited above, Jeremiah prophesied the utter destruction and desolation of Edom in the day of the Lord. Even our Lord God swore by Himself an oath that Bozrah shall lay in perpetual waste on that day; that it shall be wasted forever. Obadiah the prophet also declared that there shall not be any left in the house of Esau for the Lord shall cut them all off on that day, even the great day of the Lord God Almighty which is yet to come. Now, we know that the counsel of the Lord shall stand and His words shall come to pass. God did speak many words of judgment against Edom in the days of the prophets (Num 24:18, Psa 60:8-10, Isa 11:14, 63:1, Jer 9:26, 25:21, 27:3, 49:7-22, Ezek 25:12-14, 32:29, Dan 11:41, Joel 3:19, Amos 1:6-11, 2:1, 9:12, etc.). Many of these words have truly been fulfilled to the letter. Yet still, some remain that have not come to pass for the time appointed is not yet. Amongst these are the scriptures we have cited above. They also shall come to pass in the fullness of time which has now drawn near.

Now, where is Edom? Where is Bozrah? Who is Esau? It is written in Gen 36:1 that Esau is Edom. By this we know that the Edomites descended from Esau. They were idolaters (2 Chro 25:20). Edom in ancient times was stretched out along the south of Judah from the border of Moab on the Dead Sea to the Mediterranean and the Arabian Desert. In those days, it had Bozrah and Idumea as chief cities in the north and Sela-Petra as a chief one in the south. Today, all these areas are in the modern country of Jordan.

Today, some people claim that all prophecies concerning Edom have been fulfilled. This cannot be! For we know that Edom do exist today as the northern parts of Jordan. So how can all these words be already fulfilled when God Himself lifted His hands and swore an oath that Edom shall lay in perpetual wastes? Does perpetuity not mean forever? Does Edom not exist today as northern parts of Jordan? Do the northern parts of Jordan currently lay in waste today? Much more forever? Assuredly No. So then, why would men not understand the counsel of the Lord? Did the word of the Lord not declare in Dan 11:41 that Edom, Moab, and Ammon shall escape the Antichrist who is yet to come? If Edom is indeed already completely destroyed in the past, how then shall she escape the Antichrist who is yet to come in the future? Dan 11:41 clearly declares that Edom, Moab, and the children of Ammon will still exist in the days of the Antichrist, for this is the reason why they can escape him. How shall a non-existent nation of the past escape a mortal living man of the present? Surely this cannot be. They must exist together for one to escape another for this is right.

Now concerning the day of the Lord upon Edom, it is written in Isa 34:6-10 “ For my sword…shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment. 6 The sword of the LORD is filled with blood…for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea. 7…and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness. 8 For it is the day of the Lord’s vengeance, and the year of recompenses for the controversy of Zion. 9 And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch. 10 It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lay waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever ”. The day of the Lord begins on the very day of the Second coming of Christ and His saints to the earth to set up His eternal kingdom. This we have written to you in times past. Here, the Lord states clearly why He would bring all these evil upon Edom on that day: because of the controversy they had with Zion, which is literal Jerusalem in Israel (Isa 30:19).

It seems that Idumea in Jordan is singled out in this prophecy to partake of God’s wrath on this great day of the Lord. It is possible that part of Jordan will betray Israel and cooperate with the Antichrist during the tribulation. Nevertheless, Isa 34:6-8 suggest Idumea in Jordan to be one of the places where the armies of the Antichrist will be concentrated at the time of Armageddon. Contrarily, Sela-Petra which is a city in the southern parts of Jordan is where some Jews will be protected from the Antichrist by God. This city Petra lie in wait today for that day. Isa 16:3-5 and Rev 12:6 declares that Moab will be a place of hiding for the Jews in the days of the tribulation. In Isa 34:6-10 above, the sword of the Lord is spoken of as being filled with blood which is figurative of great slaughter. The inhabitants of Idumea, especially Bozrah, are spoken of as being sacrificed like animals of old. Isa 63:1-4 pictured the Lord, our Lord Jesus Christ in dyed garments which is compared to a great winepress of God’s wrath on that day (Isa 63:2-3, Joel 3:13, Rev 14:14-20, 19:15-21), for this is the day of His vengeance.

Now, it is written concerning the Antichrist in Dan 11:41 that Edom, Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon shall escape him. This is the modern country of Jordan. In fact, the modern city of Amman, the current capital of Jordan sits on the ancient capital of Ammon. This scripture of Jordan escaping the Antichrist is very strange? Why? How shall the country of Jordan escape the Antichrist who is just less than 50 miles away from Jerusalem, who also has conquered all the neighboring countries including mighty Egypt? Are these things not written in Dan 11:42-43? So then, why would Jordan escape him? Why would he allow Jordan to escape when he shall stretch forth his hands upon the countries roundabout?

On the other hand, did God not swear an oath to make the northern parts of Jordan a perpetual waste? Did God not say that they are the people of his curse? Is this not written in Isa 34:6-10 which we have cited above? Did God not say He shall do this because of the controversy they had with Zion which is Jerusalem in Judah? What controversy does Jordan have with Israel today? Do you know? Is Jordan not at peace with Israel today? Yes? Don’t be deceived son of man. Now hearken and understand:

During the Israeli War of Independence in 1948, it was Jordan who expelled all Jews from the West Bank and East Jerusalem and divided the holy city. It was Jordan who occupied Judea and Samaria (wrongfully calling them the " West Bank") until Israel's victory in the 1967 War. It was Jordan who destroyed all Jewish holy places in Jerusalem. Today, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan under the authority of the King of Jordan is the custodian of ALL holy sites in Islam, including Mecca, Medina, and the Temple Mount in Jerusalem (Haram al-Sharif in Arabic). In fact, the large dome called “dome of the rock” on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem was donated by the King of Jordan. The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan controlled Iraq and Saudi Arabia till the beginning of the 20 th century when the British skullduggery handed Saudi Arabia to the House of Saud in 1927. The House of Saud rules Saudi Arabia today. Even when Saddam Hussein was dethroned in Iraq, the country of Jordan raised up the Hashemite flag for many days in the Gulf of Aqaba, considering an option to rule Iraq in the near future. Some scholars are even suggesting dividing Iraq in the near future to merge Shiites and Kurdish Moslems under the jurisdiction of Jordan while Sunni Moslems exist separately, for the sake of peace between these Moslem sects. What else is left to say about Jordan? This is the strangest of all: The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is regarded in the Moslem community as the only direct lineage of Mohammed currently in existence today. The lineage of the King of Jordan descended directly from Mohammed. They are the only directdescendant of Mohammed in existence today. This is the main reason why the King of Jordan is the custodian of all Islamic holy sites in the world.

For these, and even much more which is to come, God has sworn that Idumea shall lay waste in perpetual desolation because of the controversy they have against Zion. This, the Lord shall bring to pass upon the Edom, which is Jordan. The counsel of the Lord shall be done and none shall hinder it.

Now, it is also written concerning the return of Christ at His second coming with His saints in Oba 1:21 “ And saviors (Christ and His saints) shall come up on mount Zion (Jerusalem) to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall become the LORD's”. By this Scripture, we understand by revelation that the last kingdom that shall reign on the earth just before the second coming of Christ is the Kingdom of Esau. But who is Esau? Esau is Edom (Gen 36:1) and Edom is Jordan. And not only so, the country of Jordan out of many countries in the Middle East will escape the Antichrist. The word of the Lord says clearly that he (Antichrist) shall stretch forth his hands upon the nations and many countries shall be overthrown, and even mighty Egypt will not escape. Yet, Jordan will escape. Why then would this small country of Jordan escape the Antichrist? How could this be? It is because the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is connected to the Antichrist. This we say unto you by revelation from the Lord. Righteous Father, we pray thee: let him that read these things understand. So, what meanest all this? Verily, verily, the last kingdom that shall rule the world just before the second coming of Christ, that shall have great controversy with Zion, and that shall destroy and behead many saints of God (those which became saints after the rapture) in the days of the Great Tribulation will be CONNECTED to Jordan. According to the word of the Lord, this Kingdom is called the Mount of Esau. Now, understand and know that Jordan is the custodian of all Islamic holy sites. What Kingdom then is this? It is a divided Kingdom that shall not stand. It is the Kingdom of the people of the East. A Kingdom DOMINATED by the mingled people. It is The Kingdom of the Arabs, an Islamic Empire. Islam is coming to the world and shall take it in the days to come. Him that hath an ear let him hear. He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity.

Again, we have already told you these things before they happen, so that in the days that these things come to pass, he that readeth may understand and believe in the Lord. Now we beseech you all to watch and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass and partake of the Catching Away (rapture) which shall be shortly. Verily we say unto you all, that day is at hand. Now, abide in the love of Christ to remain holy and pure in all things. The Lord cometh shortly. Prepare, Watch, and Be Ready. May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
