WORKS OF THE FLESH

Grace be to you all, and peace from God, our Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ. Today we write to you concerning works of the flesh as revealed from the scriptures by our Lord. These works MUST not be in us as children of light because it is for these works that the wrath of God comes upon the children of disobedience (Eph 5:6, Col 3:6). Any believer that has the hope of meeting our Lord at the rapture must re-examine himself whether he has any of these works in him. Can a man see the Lord, our Lord with some of these works in Him? No. Why? Because they are sinful and the scriptures declare that without holiness, NO MAN shall see the Lord (Heb 12:14). So you’ll agree the man does not partake of the rapture.

What is the meaning of “works of the flesh?” These are actions, behavioral patterns, or works that are manifested in a man under the influence of Satan. If a man is filled with the Holy Spirit, he is under the influence of God and our Lord Jesus Christ. Likewise, if a man does not have the Spirit of God in Him, he does not belong to God but to Satan whether he believes it or not (Rom 8:9). If any man claims to have the Spirit of God in him and still indulges in any of these works, he holds the truth in unrighteousness. Such a man needs immediate repentance today lest Satan himself cut him off in his sin.

What are the works of the flesh mentioned in Gal 5:19-21? They are: 1. Adultery & Fornication meaning unlawful sexual relations between a man and a woman, single or married (Matt 5:28, 32, 15:19, Mk 7:21, John 8:3), 2. Uncleanness meaning whatever is opposite of purity; including homosexuality, sodomy, lesbianism, pederasty, and other forms of sexual perversion (Matt 23:27, Rom 1:21-32, 6:19, 2 Cor 12:21, Eph 4:19, 5:3, Col 3:5), 3. Lasciviousness meaning licentiousness, lustfulness, unchastity, or lewdness; it is the promoting or partaking of that which tends to produce lewd emotions, anything tending to foster sex, sin or lusts. This is why many worldly pleasures have to be avoided by a believer so that lasciviousness is not committed. 4. Idolatry meaning image worship; it includes anything on which affections are passionately set; extravagant admiration of the heart, 5. Witchcraft meaning sorcery, practice of dealing with evil spirits like a magician would do, 6. Hatred meaning bitter dislike, malice, ill-will against anyone, tendency to hold grudges or be angry at anyone, 7. Variance meaning dissension, discord, quarrelling, disputes, 8. Emulations meaning envies, jealousies, striving to excel at the expense of another, uncurbed rivalry spirit in business, society, and other fields of endeavor, 9. Wrath meaning indignation, fierceness, rage, determined and lasting anger, 10. Strife meaning disputations, angry contentions, strenuous endeavor to equal or pay back in kind the wrongs done to one, 11. Seditions meaning divisions or stirring up of strife among people and parties, 12. Heresies meaning aberration from what is generally accepted to be right by the scriptures, 13. Envying meaning pain, ill-will, or jealousy at the good fortune or blessing of another, 14. Murders meaning to kill, to mar or spoil the happiness of another; it also means hatred (1 John 3:15), 15. Drunkenness meaning living intoxicated or given to drinking, 16. Revelings meaning lascivious and boisterous feastings with obscene music, and other sinful activities and pleasures. It also means rioting (Rom 13:13). Eph 5:4 mentioned filthiness or filthy communication, foolish talking and unclean jestings or jokes also as works of the flesh.

As children of the kingdom, we beseech you all to search your hearts and come to surety that none of these works is in you. Yet again, this is another reminder and warning from our Lord Jesus Christ, to us all as children of light to live and walk uprightly before Him in Holiness and FULL OBEDIENCE to His Word. If there be any of you that still bear fruits of these works of the flesh, we beseech you to repent today, this moment, because tomorrow may be too late. Our Lord is warning you all to be obedient children, putting the Word of our Lord first in all that you do and seeking daily the grace to do them. See brethren, the only way to be FREE from these works and to be blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, is to be filled with the knowledge of the Word of God and walk fully in them, be persistent in prayer, and be filled with the Holy Spirit. How much of the Word of God do you know, live, and walk by? Do you receive the Word with readiness of mind and search the scriptures daily whether all that we say are true like the Berea Christians did (the Holy Spirit bear us witness that they are true)? Do you say in your hearts that this writing is too long and so you cannot read it and yet you read many unfruitful letters and magazines? Do you think our Lord does not see you do these things? If we write to you all by the Spirit of God (and we do), would that not mean you resist the Spirit of God and quench it? Does the scripture not say quench not the Spirit (I Thess 5:19)? Or will you rather say it’s long but yet you’ll read it because it is the Word of our Lord (our Lord bear us witness that He has sent us)? Brethren, our Lord is watching us all and He is surely beholding the evil and the good (Prov 15:3). He will recompense everyone according to their works the scriptures say.

Please, we beseech you all brethren by the mercies of God to take heed to this Word so that our Lord does not come to you suddenly as a thief in the night. See, our Lord cometh to take His own out of the world and the time is even at the doors. Him that hath an ear let him hear. It SHALL not be long. Many shall witness this and by this they shall know that the Word of our Lord is true and that surely, the Lord will do nothing but he reveals His secrets to His servants (Amos 3:7). Again, Him that hath an ear let him hear.

We pray for you all that our Lord by His grace will make you all walk worthy of Him unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God and that God, our Father of glory will preserve your spirit, soul, and body blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is even at the doors. May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
